Atlas — Workout & Macro Tracker · Last updated 15 August 2026
The short version. Your workouts, meals, body metrics and progress photos are stored in your own private iCloud. We have no copy of them. There are no ads, no trackers, and no third-party analytics SDKs. Nothing is sold, ever.
Atlas stores your training and nutrition data in a private CloudKit database tied to your Apple Account. That data syncs between your own devices through Apple's infrastructure. The developer cannot read it and holds no server-side copy. This includes:
Deleting the app removes the local copy. Data in your private iCloud database remains under your control through your Apple Account.
Atlas requires Sign in with Apple to create an account. We store a minimal account record containing your Apple user identifier and, if you choose to share it, your email address. This is used to operate your account and the optional social features. It is not used for advertising and is never sold.
You can delete your account at any time in Settings → Account → Delete account. This purges the server record and revokes the Sign in with Apple token.
The optional Scan food mode sends a photo you explicitly take or select to our own server, which forwards it to Anthropic's API for food and macro analysis.
Barcode scanning and nutrition-label reading are performed entirely on your device using Apple's Vision and VisionKit frameworks. They send nothing anywhere and are unaffected by the setting above.
With your permission, Atlas reads and writes Apple Health data. It reads cardio workouts, body weight, sleep, heart rate and related metrics to inform your training and recovery, and writes completed workouts, body metrics and nutrition entries back so other apps can use them. Health data is exchanged directly with Apple Health on your device. It is never sent to our servers. You control every category in the Health app.
When you scan a barcode, only the barcode number is sent to Open Food Facts, a nonprofit food database, in order to look up the product. No identity, account information or other data accompanies that request. Atlas also includes bundled nutrition data from USDA FoodData Central (public domain) and Open Food Facts (Open Database License).
The friends feed, leaderboards, challenges and teams are opt-in and off by default. When you enable them, only workouts, personal records and best lifts are shared with friends you have accepted. Your bodyweight, body measurements, progress photos and all diet data are never shared, under any setting. You can turn social off at any time from your social profile, which stops publishing and clears what was shared.
Optional analytics are off by default and require explicit opt-in. When enabled, Atlas sends coarse daily event counts (for example, how many workouts were finished) with no identifier attached and no raw data. These are stored only as aggregate daily totals. You can turn them off at any time in Settings → Privacy.
Push notifications are opt-in and used only for friend requests, challenge activity and reminders you configure. If you grant permission, a device token is stored so notifications can be delivered to you.
Atlas is rated 13+ and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
You can export all of your data as JSON at any time from Settings → Data, and delete your account and server record from Settings → Account → Delete account. For any other request regarding your data, contact us at the address below.
If this policy changes materially, the updated version will be posted here with a new date, and significant changes will be noted in the app.
